Latoya Peterson. Yvonne Leow. Carolina Guerrero. Akoto Ofori-Atta. Anh Hoà Truong. Martín Quiroga. And AllDigitocracy.org Founder Tracie Powell. These are among the journalists of color who have won JSK Journalism Fellowships at Stanford University.
The JSK program has made a concerted effort to reach out to journalists of color communities to encourage a more diverse applicant base. To that end, AllDigitocracy.org and the National Association of Black Journalists’ Digital Journalism Task Force are hosting an hour-long Google Hangout on Nov. 5 at 8:00 p.m. EST for those interested in learning more about the JSK Journalism Fellowships.
The hangout will feature JSK Director Jim Bettinger, 2016 JSK Fellow Sarah Alvarez, along with JSK alums Latoya Peterson (2013) and Yvonne Leow (2015) covering topics including the application and selection process. This event is a great opportunity to learn about a program created in 1966 designed to serve the needs of journalism and journalists by focusing on innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership. The Hangout will be recorded for those who can’t make it. Register to join the Hangout here.
