Megan Chan, director of digital products at Politico, will soon join The Washington Post as director of digital operations.
Chan had worked at Politico for the past five years.
In her new role, Chan will collaborate with the Post’s chief information officer, Shailesh Prakash, to build digital newsroom products. She will also be responsible for adopting new technology tools to build traffic to the news organization’s website, exploring platforms with which to showcase Post content, and advocating internally for rapid digital progress within the newsroom, according to a press release.
“Megan will identify best practices that can be applied across the newsroom, seek to address any weaknesses in individual departments, and identify areas that require more digital support,” the release states. “She will regularly embed in departments, working side by side with reporters and editors.”
Chan will start her new job July 11.
