Nikole-Hannah Jones joins New York Times Magazine

Nikole Hannah JonesNikole Hannah-Jones, civil rights journalist, announced this week that she would depart ProPublica to join the New York Times Magazine. Jones, who joined ProPublica in 2011, has also worked for The Oregonian and The News & Observer in Raleigh, N.C.

Jake Silverstein, editor in chief of the  New York Times Magazine tweeted the following message about Jones:

Big news: I’m totally thrilled to announce that the brilliant and tenacious @nhannahjones is joining @NYTmag as a staff writer.

Nia-Malika Henderson exits The Washington Post

The Washington Post’s Nia-Malika Henderson is being hired away by CNN to serve as senior political reporter on its digital politics team.

Rachel Smolkin, executive editor of CNN Politics said, “Nia brings great insight and authority to this coverage and will build on her work at the Post covering the intersection of politics with culture and demographics.”

Starting April 6th, Henderson will now cover the 2016 campaign for CNN’s digital and television platforms. She will also cover identity politics for the network, focusing on demographics, race and religion.
